How to Measure Coffee for a French Press

French press coffee gives you some of the best tasting coffee. These coffee makers, also known as “plunger” or “press pots,” come in sizes ranging from single cups to 12 cups.  The French Press coffee maker has begun to become popular in North America. With large coffee chains now offering the pots for sale. While the brewing process may take a little more time, coffee fanatics swear by the rich taste of a French Press cup.

Things you will need;

·        Coffee Grinder

·        Fresh coffee beans

·        French Press Coffee Maker

·        Kettle

·        Water

·        Measuring spoons

The first thing you need to do is place two tablespoons of coffee beans into your grinder and grind them to a coarse powder. French Press posts work best with coarsely ground coffee so that mesh filter strains properly and does not get clogged. Second step is to fill a kettle with water and place it on the stove on high heat. Bring the water close to a boil and remove. The measurement of the coffee is based on (6 oz.) of coffee you want to make, you will need two rounded tablespoons of freshly ground coffee per 6 oz. of coffee. You can adjust this measurement to your taste. You will then add the coffee to the French Press carafe quickly. Coffee loses its flavor rapidly so you need to move fast for the best taste. Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee grounds, filling to the desired cup measurement, and replace the lid. Allows follow the directions of your French Press coffee maker to plunge and filter the grounds which should assist you in making a great cup of coffee.

We recommend that you make only the amount of coffee you can consume with in ten minutes or so. It is not good to leave coffee in the press for any length of time, because the coffee will continue to brew and become stronger.
